2017 Australian Orienteering Championships
So, here I am about to head off to the 2017 Australian Orienteering Championships with a view to achieve the following things:
1. Assist the members of ACT Schools Team to achieve the best performance they are capable of, while still enjoying themselves. I'm hoping each of them comes away from the week with great memories of their runs, new friendships, and a great sense of pride.
2. Try to navigate well in the events I have entered, and try not to be caught up in racing others I come across, and run my own race. Trying to keep in touch with the map and have the confidence in my own ability to read teh terrain and make sensible navigation choices. I'm not expecting a high finish, there are over 50 competitors in my age class, but a lack of big errors would be nice.
3. If the opportunity arises try to capture some of the spirit of the event photographically, and not just individual photos of competitors. This may work, or not, but I'll give it a go and see if I can present some views of Orienteering beyond the start and finish.
When I do finally publish the photos, which may not be complete until mid October I would appreciate any feedback and comments. In fact, if you have ideas for what you want to see from the Championships let me know and I will try to capture something during my time away.
